HAPPY 2010! I hope you all are enjoying the New Year with your families. I can't believe it's already here!

School starts back up again on Jan. 4th for me, but I don't think it'll be that bad this semester (Thank God!).

I had to fast forward a little today in my Animal Crossing game so I could catch their New year Celebration. The mayor of my village gave my character party poppers and there were lots of fireworks. I also caught the first fish of 2010: a stringfish (at least I think it was)!

This year I want to strive to get more neighbors in my village. So far there's been a capacity of about nine counting my character. But I want more neighbors! I've been planting trees like crasy hoping that it might boost my rating a bit. Also, I don't want Vesta or Robin to movie! They've been in my little village of Oblivion since I created it back in April! They're my only two original neighbors.

Since this is my first post of the new year, I just wanted to say that I surprised myself with reaching 100 deviations. I hope to expand my horizons with fanfictions, poetry, and traditional abstract art and hope to improve more this year. I've had many new and inspiring ideas pop into my brain! I also want to pass this Beta Readers test so I can qualify as an official BR on a site called 'erfect Imagination'.

I just want to give a shoutout to ALL of my friends and watchers here on DA AND in real life. You guys are awesome and although some of you don't even talk to me anymore, that's okay because, hey..you haven't taken me off you're watch so apparently there's still something about me you like!XDDD

I would like to say a view words regarding Klyde, Lacey’s beloved hamster. I’m going to miss the little fella. He’s not doing so well in health and this may be his last couple of hours. Even though he disliked hippies, I never stopped thinking he was the most adorable damn hamster I’ve seen! He will be deeply missed…

Damn...I wish I could be there in Kansas at Lacey's house...but I'm stuck in Iowa! Hang in there Lacey! *snuggles*

On a much happier note, I’m rather excited for the new year. I wrote up a traditional list of resolutions, but I don’t even know If I’m going to follow any of them! That’s pretty sad if you ask me. Anyway, I have to tell some watchers of mine….I wrote my VERY FIRST Fullmetal Alchemist fanfiction the day before I left to come to Iowa for the holidays. It’s up on fanfiction.net now if anyone’s interested in seeing it. I am quite proud of how it came out, and even sent it in for consideration in the Naka-Kon fanfiction contest. Although, as soon as I did that, I began to seriously doubt. I really should have sent in that RikuxSora story, because there was more writing to it. The fic I sent in was merely just a character contemplation piece, and barely reached the minimum number of words required for the contest. Ah well, there’s always next year I can try.

Also, I have a serious announcement to make. This goes out to and . I’m sorry to say this guys, but I won’t be able to make it to the next Anime Festival Wichita this year. I know, I’m SO unhappy about it! The reason is because I won’t be back from Alaska in time! I honestly thought we’d be back by at least the beginning or middle of July, but we won’t be back until the middle of August! So, that means no Zexion this year! *pout*

However, on the brighter side, I DID get my registration finally in for Naka-Kon. I really hope I get all of my cosplay stuff done in time. It’s going to be a real rush now.

So…on my way up to Iowa, I was in a HUGE muse and it lasted for well over an hour or so. I got so many ideas written down and polished up. My main concern is actually finding time to sit down and write some of these fics. I’ve got about 4 or 5 one-shot ideas, and a couple of chapter fictions in the process. I don’t know why, but my muse has been demanding FMA stuff and I’m quite scared. I told myself I wasn’t going to get into writing for that fandom, but apparently my muse thinks otherwise. I know it may sound silly me talking about a ‘muse’ as an actual person, but sometimes I feel like it’s just that. I have no control sometimes over the ideas that come into my mind; they can just spring up randomly and invade. It’s almost like someone is whispering random crap in my ear, and I can’t help but listen.

So, without further ado, I would like to share a bit of some.

First, I’ve had this idea going for some time now, but because my muse has shifted slightly off of Kingdom Hearts, I haven’t put much more thought into this idea recently. I DID begin writing the first couple of chapters and know the basic idea. But it’s going to be a story titled ‘Addict’. It’s a story that revolves around the life of Demyx, in a way. I stumbled upon the idea one day when thinking about how fans often view Demyx’s character, and how often he is paired off with certain Org. members. I know there’s Akudemy, XigDem, and Zemyx. But I’ve also heard of LuxDem and even XalDem (which scares me slightly). I began wondering…what exactly makes people want to pair him with so many people? I mean, in the game, Demyx didn’t interest me all that much.. He was a scared little boy who didn’t want to do anything for the Organization and loved water. Of course, that’s just my opinion, but I never really understood…the appeal Demyx has on other fans, and why he seems like such a favorable candidate in Kingdom Hearts yaoi shipping. So, I decided to write a story using those different pairings, and exploring their characteristics using Zexion himself. I mean, since he IS the cloaked schemer, I would think it wouldn’t be too hard for him to get information out of people, or to find shit out his own way. I want to be as creative as I can with this. But this isn’t going to be like an essay or anything. It will be an actual chapter story with takes on Org. pairings similar to the ones I’ve seen done in the archives.

Another muse that arose happened to be for Harry Potter! I was stunned actually considering I haven’t written for Harry Potter in over a year! This fic will focus on Angelina Johnson and how she views the death of Fred Weasley. As many of you know, it was never known if there was anything going on between the two of them while at school. The fact that he took her to the Yule Ball hardly proves any valid points, sorry to say. But anyway, I quite liked the idea and was inspired by the song Crazy Angel, by Kill Hannah. It’s a GREAT song and I highly recommend you listen to it!

So…do you all want to know what I got for Christmas? I’m so excited because I received THREE gift cards to Barnes and Noble! Let’s just say that I’m going to be happy for a while! I also got a brand new DVD player (because my other one got recalled) from my grandparents. I also got a few little things here and there

I’ve gotten that new Kingdom Hearts game, but I haven’t played it in a while. It’s not that I’m becoming bored with it, I guess I’m just preoccupied with other things, like muses for other fandoms, and Animal Crossing, and schoolwork…

Speaking of Animal Crossing, I only have ONE MORE HOUSE PAYMENT to go before my house is COMPLETELY paid off. But the good news is that I FINALLY HAVE A BACKROOM! Vexen finally has his lab, Lacey!

I just came back from watching the new movie "Avatar" in theaters. Two and a half fucking hours of amazing animation and graphics! The plot wasn't very original (which was basically humans invading species habitats that don't belong to them and said species fights off with lesser forms of technology and are all "This is MY turf, ho, back the fuck off!") I must say, but it was HOW the story was told that made the movie creative and a HUGE success! I went with Jessica and Lacey to see it, along with my grandparents.

They also came over earlier today and received their presents! I got Jessica some Fullmetal Alchemist playing cards (because I saw them at FYE at the mall and was all like "Dude...it's FMA! *squeals*). Plus, she LOVES that show. I also bought Lacey some of those fancy Pilot pens from Wal-Mart. They went up in price, which was a real pain, but she was glad I got them for her.

Random imput right mrah...but I DON'T want to talk about how finals went. They were aweful...that's all I'm saying. :hm:

Anyway, I just realized yesterday that over Christmas break I have to create a powerpoint over PROTISTS. How fucking exciting ! This is NOT going to be fun. Learning about unicellular organisms might be fun for the eager microbiologist (or someone similar) but NOT to THIS student *points to self*. *sigh* Ah well, I have to get it done though...

Okay, so I want to rant a little. Now before you run for the hills, it's not gonna be that bad. Let's just call this a MINI rant, okay?

So...I read fanfiction, as a lot of you know. And by that I mean A LOT of fanfiction. Lately I've been giving the Fullmetal Alchemist fanfiction a try. I've found lots of trends. Tons of trends throughout my venture into the fandom world of creative writing. Anyway, one of the BIGGEST trends I've noticed, and one that's been pissing me off just a little bit lately, is this whole scenario:

Edward: Hey Winry, I'm back!
Winry: Oh Edward...I'm so glad you're home! What did you break this time? *smacks*
Edward and Winry: *bicker bicker*
-Later-
Winry: Ed, do you really have to leave meh??
Edward: Of course I do!
Winry: *pouts and cries*
Pinako: *to Edward* Either you go and don't come back or you stay!

....does anyone see a PROBLEM with this?? I mean, I KNOW it's fanfition and people can pretty much do "whatever the hell they want to", but seriously? I find that some people often forget some major plot facts when attempting to write EdWin fanfiction.

First being that Edward is in the military. He can't just get time off and see Winry whenever the hell he feels like it, no matter how often he runs and does he own thing (while sometimes disobeying his commanding officer and all that jazz). I mean, I come from a military family (ranging from all the branches except the Navy) and it's NOT like they can choose when they get time off, either. I guess people can argue and say that he has to make time to get his automail fixed, but that's not the same as staying for a long period of time.

And what is up with Edward retiring or quitting? You can't quit the military. You know too much stuff and it would be rather risky especially in times of great war (like in the FMA world). It just DOESN'T happen. You can get out of the military by either retiring (the years of service today is around 20 but I'm not sure how much it was back in the 20s), doing something so bad that the military kicks you out, or dying. My information may be a little inaccurate, I'm not sure. But Edward would STILL be considered too young to retire from the military!

And third of all, I especially HATE the stories where Edward ends up staying with Winry when he DOESN'T get his full body fixed and I hate the stories even MORE when AL doesn't have his body back yet. I mean, come ON...that's pretty much the whole POINT of Fullmetal Alchemist. Ed and Al WANT to find their bodies. No matter how many times fanfiction authors want Edward to stay with Winry and live "happily ever after"...it's just NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Maybe after he DOES find his and Al's bodies he MIGHT stay (it's still a rather small chance though)...but let's be a little bit realistic here. Even though it's been hinted that Winry is important to Edward, Al has always come FIRST. I highly doubt he would stop searching for something just becaus Winry's "feeling lonely without him there".

Of course, this thankfully doesn't summarize most of the fanfiction, but I've seen a lot of similar ideas following this concept. I find that this trend is one of the things that makes my liking for EdWin diminish slightly, at least when fanfiction is concerned.

DEVIATIONS UPDATE
Well, I'm sorry to say...but my deviations are currently all on hiatus. I've been in a major creative slump and my muse hasn't been active lately. I'm sure it's probably due to the Christmas season.

Which reminds me, I'm going to Iowa the day after Christmas! I'll get to see my cousins (who ironically live right next to a CORN field! That makes me giggle).

Finals are this week! *runs and hides* But on the bright side, Christmas break is not too far off! I'm more worried about my AP Biology and College English finals. Those are my two hardest classes so far. Chemistry, though, comes in third...just because I really hate that class.

Which is strange because my current test grade was an 89%! I couldn't believe it! Ah well, my grade in there is steady, that's really all that matters.

I haven't been very active lately because of the tons of events my grandparents drag me too. I almost literally had ZERO time to myself all weekend. stayed over Saturday night, but Sunday was harsh because I got a serious bitching from my grandmother and Lacey had to go home earlier than she usually does when she's over. Then at 3 I went to a memorial service for a lady who died at the Veteran's post. It was nice, but we didn't get out of there till almost 5! Yeah, my grandparents are THAT slow (considering the service only lasted about 30 minutes plus the 15 minutes of eating)!

Well, anyway, I'm wanting to work some more on my Spanish. I can't believe I've been learning it for FOUR years and STILL some things are not sticking in my brain! I think some of it contributes to the fact that I'm not practising enough, but nobody in my home wants to know Spanish enough to help me! And it's not like I REALLY want to go around the house talking to myself in Spanish! But if that's what I must start doing then that's that!

But just so I can practise with typing it...
